The Environmental Rating System (ERS) takes into account the technical specifics of manufacturing each product, from farming practices and energy consumption, through to mill waste and recycling programs.

The environmental impact of each product is carefully scrutinized.

The consumption of water, land, energy and chemicals, and the production of greenhouse gases are just a few of the factors assessed.

For instance, just one kilogram of cotton fabric requires between 12,000 and 29,000 litres of water, as well as the application of numerous pesticides.
